You didn't come to Italy to follow someone else's idea of a wedding day

I'm Camilla — Italian photographer, experience designer, and the person who will help you build a day in Italy that is entirely, honestly yours. Venice. The Dolomites. Tuscany. Amalfi. Como. Rome.

        Wherever you feel most alive.

START PLANNING YOUR ELOPEMENT IN ITALY

What if your wedding day felt effortless, beautiful, and entirely your own?

A slow morning in a beautiful space, where the day begins without urgency.

Getting ready quietly, with time to take everything in.

Stepping out into a city that still feels untouched — soft light, empty streets, a sense of calm before everything begins.

Exchanging vows somewhere that you chose because it feels right — a terrace, a hidden corner, a place chosen not for tradition, but for its unique atmosphere. A place that is perfect for you.

Letting the day unfold without structure.

Walking, pausing, noticing. A glass of wine, the last light settling on stone and water.

An experience shaped by beauty, movement, and feeling — whether in the quiet of the mountains or the elegance of a city.

"She captured our day so beautifully it brought me to tears"

A couple once shared those words with me

        — and I’ve never forgotten them.

Because that is exactly how your wedding photographs should feel.
Not just beautiful, but deeply moving.
Images that return you to the emotion — year after year.

Your Elopement Photographer in Italy + Planning Consultant

+ Expert in Artful and Editorial Elopements in Italy

+ Experience Designer & Planning Consultant

Brand Photos in Venice - Camìlla M Wedding & Elopement Photographer Videographer

I don’t just photograph elopements, I design and plan a curated, unique experience around the two of you.

From finding meaningful locations across Italy, to shaping the flow of the day, to connecting you with trusted local vendors when needed, I work with couples who want a wedding day that feels personal, intimate, and thoughtfully designed.

Whether in a historic city, an architectural setting, or a natural landscape, each experience is built around your love story.

Being based in Italy allows me to approach every elopement with a deep understanding of place — not only where to go, but how to experience it in a way that feels natural and meaningful.

        ELOPEMENT PHOTOGRAPHER,

        EXPERIENCE DESIGNER AND PLANNING CONSULTANT

“ We worked with Camilla for our elopement in Lake Como, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. From the very beginning, she made us feel completely at ease - so kind, warm, and genuinely fun to spend time with as we explored together.

Beyond her incredible photography and video (which captured our day so beautifully it brought me to tears), Camilla went above and beyond in helping us coordinate the little details that made the day seamless. She recommended a fantastic hair & makeup stylist, helped organize a boat, and liaised with our hotel to make everything flow smoothly.

Her talent behind the camera is matched by her thoughtfulness and professionalism. The photos and video are stunning, cinematic, and truly capture the essence of our love story. These are memories we’ll truly treasure forever, and for that, we are eternally grateful!

We highly, highly recommend Camilla to anyone considering a wedding, engagement, or elopement in Lake Como (or anywhere she travels!) - she is a dream to work with, and we are so lucky to have found her. ”

When you start researching elopements in Italy, the options can feel overwhelming quickly.

There are photographers who specialise in adventure elopements, photographers who offer all-inclusive packages, photographers who visit Italy a few times a year, and photographers who live here year-round. The images often look similar at first glance. The differences are harder to see — until the day itself.

The questions most couples end up asking are the practical ones:

Do I need a planner or just a photographer? How much coverage do I actually need for a day that's just the two of us?

How do I make sure the locations feel genuinely chosen for us rather than the same spots every couple uses?

How do I trust someone I've never met with the most personal day of my life?

My approach is designed to answer all of those questions before they become worries.

Rather than fitting your elopement into a predefined package, I work with you from the beginning — understanding what you're imagining, what matters to you, and what kind of day would make you feel completely and quietly yourself. The locations, the timing, the vendors, the flow of the whole experience: everything is built around you specifically.

The result is an elopement that feels effortless, intentional, and entirely your own.

        The Elopement in Italy Experience

ELOPEMENT PHOTOGRAPHY + EXPERIENCE DESIGN ACROSS ITALY

I'll be honest: my favourite part of this work is the planning. It's where the day takes shape — the quiet, thoughtful preparation that turns a beautiful place into a day you'll remember for the rest of your life.

Over eleven years of photographing elopements and intimate weddings across Italy, I've refined a process that adapts to each couple — their pace, their personalities, their vision of what a perfect day looks like.

Whether you have a clear idea or no idea at all, I'll help you get there.

From suggesting the right location for your ceremony timing, to designing a timeline that works with the light rather than against it, to introducing you to the right officiant or florist or boat captain — I guide every detail so that you arrive and the day is already yours.

This is how the most intimate, cinematic, and genuinely moving elopement images come to life.

Here's what's always included when you work with me:

Bespoke Elopement Planning & Experience Design

        - Your elopement, built from scratch
I get to know you before anything else — so that every decision, from location to timing to vendors, reflects who you actually are.

-Location curation you won't find on Google
I know all the best spots — most of them aren't on any map — and I match them to your vision specifically, so that every place we go feels discovered rather than assigned.

        - A timeline designed around light, not logistics

I build your day around the best light and the quietest hours — so you have portraits at each location exactly when it's at its most beautiful, with no rushing and no stress.

        - Ceremony planning and officiant coordination

I find the right officiant for your tone, brief them on your story, and coordinate everything — so the ceremony feels genuinely personal rather than a script with your names inserted.

        - Full venue and access coordination

Whether it's a privately rentable historic palazzo, a hotel terrace, or a quiet outdoor location — I handle all logistics, bookings, and coordination in Italian — so you never have to navigate anything unfamiliar.

        - Trusted vendor introductions

Eleven years of working across Italy means a real network of people I trust personally — hair and make-up, florists, officiants, private boats, musicians — so you don't have to research anyone. I've already done that.

        - Personalised activity ideas and local operators
I'll suggest unique experiences around your day — a private boat, a wine tasting, a sunrise excursion — and connect you with pre-vetted operators — so your time in Italy feels like a complete experience, not just a single event.

        - Customised lodging recommendations

From iconic luxury hotels to intimate boutique apartments with the right terrace for a ceremony — I give you specific, honest recommendations within your budget — so that where you stay becomes part of the experience rather than a separate decision.

        - Mood board and styling suggestions

I'll curate images tailored to your taste — florals, outfit colours, overall aesthetic — so that you arrive in Italy knowing exactly how the day will look and feel.

        - Packing checklist tailored to your destination and season

Right shoes for Venice's cobblestones, right layers for the Dolomites in October — I'll tell you exactly what to bring — so there are no surprises on the day.

        - Unlimited consultations and direct access to me
Questions, ideas, doubts — text, email, or call me any time throughout the planning process — so that nothing falls through the gaps and you arrive feeling completely supported.

        - Day-of presence and calm guidance
I arrive early and stay until the end — managing everything, adapting to anything — so that you can be fully present and forget there's a photographer there at all.

        Dolomites-Wedding-Sunset-Shoot-at-Passo-Giau-Cortina
        Dolomites-Wedding-Sunset-Shoot-at-Passo-Giau-Cortina

        Editorial, Empathetic & Joyful Photography

        - Natural light photography that captures how the day actually felt
I always work with available light — so that your images are inseparable from the place, the hour, and the feeling. No flash, no setup, nothing that interrupts the moment.

        - Editorial and documentary, in the right balance
Beautifully directed portraits blended with natural, unguarded moments — so your gallery is both stylish and emotionally honest. Images that feel like something out of a fine art magazine and like evidence of something real — at the same time.

        - Empathetic, introvert-friendly directing
I guide you with suggestions that feel like movement, not posing — so that even if you've never felt natural in front of a camera, you will here. My goal is for you to have fun in every moment.

        - Getting-ready coverage that gives your gallery a complete story
I arrive while you're still getting ready — so your gallery begins at the very beginning, with the quiet details of the morning before everything starts. These early images are consistently among the most beloved in any gallery.

        - Ceremony coverage that lets the moment belong entirely to you

I work quietly and without interruption during the ceremony — close enough to capture the emotion, far enough to let the moment belong entirely to you.

        - Portrait coverage across the full day
Portraits happen throughout the day, not in one rushed session — so that each location gives us different light, different mood, and images of completely different character.

        - A plan B, always ready
I anticipate weather, crowds, and last-minute changes — so that whatever happens, you never feel it. I pivot without drama. You relax completely.

        - Preview images within 48 hours
Within 48 hours of your elopement day, I send a selection of preview images — so that you can share the moment and relive the feeling while the emotion is still vivid.

-Artistic, hand-crafted editing — every image personally finished by me

Every photograph is edited by me personally — not outsourced — so that each image reflects a deliberate creative choice rather than an automated preset.

        - Your complete gallery — all images, forever, yours

High-resolution, fully edited, no watermarks, no printing restrictions — so that you can download, print, and share your images however you choose, forever.

        - Complimentary album design

You'll receive a complimentary album design — so that your story doesn't live only on a screen. Turn it into an heirloom-quality book whenever you're ready.

        - Travel throughout Italy, always included
My travel to any destination in Italy is included in every collection — so that your choice of location is driven only by where you want to be.

        - Videography available on request
I work with trusted videographers whose aesthetic matches mine — so that if you want a film, the photographer and videographer work as a single team from the start.

        FAQS Your Questions, Answered Honestly

Can we elope in Italy legally as foreigners?

Most international couples choose a symbolic ceremony in Italy, which requires no legal paperwork here — you complete the legal marriage in your home country before or after. Civil ceremonies for foreigners are also possible but involve more lead time and bureaucracy. I can walk you through what makes sense for your situation and introduce you to trusted local officiants.

Do I really need more than 4 hours of coverage?

In my honest experience — almost always, yes. The best moments of an elopement rarely happen in the first hour. Once you stop feeling self-conscious, once you’ve wandered a bit, once the light shifts — that’s when the images become extraordinary. I’ll always be truthful with you about what will give you the best day and the best photographs.

We have no idea where in Italy we want to go. Can you help?

This is one of my favourite parts of the process. I’ll ask you what matters to you — architecture or nature, the sea or the mountains, a city morning or a countryside afternoon — and suggest locations that genuinely fit. Most couples arrive with a vague idea and leave our first call with a clear vision.

What makes your work different from other Italy elopement photographers?

I’m Italian and based in Venice — I’m not visiting. I have a cinema background as a Director of Photography, which means I think about every frame the way a film director would. I take a limited number of elopements each year so I can be genuinely present and dedicated. And I offer real planning — I help design the day from scratch, handle logistics, and connect you with vendors I trust personally.

        Do you offer videography?

I don’t personally film, but I work with a small number of trusted videographers whose aesthetic matches mine. Videography can be added to any collection — mention it when you inquire and I’ll make the introduction.

How far in advance should we book?

For peak season (April–October), I recommend 6–12 months ahead — especially for Venice and Lake Como. That said, I occasionally have last-minute openings. If your date is soon, always worth reaching out.

Can we add extra days or locations?

Absolutely. Multi-day elopements — a full weekend in Venice, a road trip through Tuscany, a sunrise in the Dolomites followed by dinner on Lake Como — are some of the most beautiful work I do. Contact me and we’ll build something fully bespoke.

        What is your editing style?

Natural light, editorial composition, genuine emotion. Warm, luminous, and true to how the moment felt — never over-edited, never flat. You can see the full body of my work at camillam.it/portfolio.

Can we bring a small group of guests to our elopement?

Absolutely — an elopement doesn’t have to mean just the two of you. Many of my couples bring their parents, a sibling, or their closest friends. Up to about ten people keeps the day feeling genuinely intimate; beyond that it starts to become something closer to a micro-wedding, which I also photograph. Tell me how many people you’re imagining and I’ll design the day accordingly — the locations, the ceremony setup, and the flow all change slightly with guests, and I’ll make sure everything works beautifully.

Are you inclusive of LGBTQ+ couples?

Completely and wholeheartedly. All couples are celebrated here without reservation. Italy legally recognises same-sex civil unions, and symbolic ceremonies can be designed for any couple in any configuration. I work with officiants who feel the same way I do.

What if it rains on our elopement day?

I always have a plan B ready before your day begins — an indoor location, a covered terrace, a change of route — so that rain never becomes a crisis. Honestly, some of my most extraordinary images have been made on overcast or rainy days. The light is softer, the colours are richer, and the mood is something that bright sunshine simply doesn’t produce. I’ll never ask you to be disappointed about weather. I’ll ask you to trust me, and I’ll show you what it can look like.

Do I need a separate wedding planner in addition to a photographer?

Not when you work with me. The planning — locations, timeline, vendor coordination, ceremony setup, accommodation guidance — is fully included in every collection. I am your photographer and your planning consultant in one. This is specifically how I work, and it is one of the things that makes an elopement with me different from hiring a photographer who simply shows up on the day. The only thing I don’t do is legal paperwork for legal weddings in Italy: I will refer you to a planner who can take care of that.

What is the best time of year to elope in Italy?

My honest answer: late April through May, and September through October. These are the months when the light is at its most beautiful, the crowds are manageable, and the temperature is comfortable for wearing a dress or a suit all day. Summer is extraordinary at sunrise but requires very early starts to avoid the heat and the crowds. Winter is atmospheric and intimate and severely underrated. Every season has something extraordinary to offer — I’ll give you a specific recommendation once I know your destination and your vision.

How does the inquiry and booking process work?

Fill in the contact form or send me an email with a little about yourselves and your vision — even if it’s still vague. I reply personally within 48 hours and we schedule a free video call, usually 30–45 minutes. On that call I’ll ask you questions, answer yours, and we’ll figure out together whether we’re the right match. If we decide to move forward, I’ll send a proposal and a contract. A deposit secures your date.

Can we do a pre-wedding session in Italy the day before our elopement?

Yes — and I recommend it. A pre-wedding portrait session the day before does two things: it gives you a chance to get comfortable in front of my camera before the most important day, and it gives us a set of images in a different location or a different light to add to your Italy story. Many of my couples do a late afternoon session in Venice or a morning in Florence the day before their elopement and arrive on the day itself already relaxed and at ease.

        Do you travel outside Italy?

Italy is where I am most at home and where I do my best work — it is the country I know most deeply and where I can offer the full planning and local knowledge service that makes my elopements different. I have photographed in Scotland, France, Japan, and more. I am occasionally available for international travel; contact me and I’ll let you know honestly whether it makes sense.

We’re not sure elopement is the right word for what we want. How do you define it?

I define an elopement as any wedding day that is built around the couple rather than the guests — where the priority is your experience, your emotion, and your day, rather than the logistics of hosting a large celebration. It can be just the two of you, or it can include the people who matter most. It can have a ceremony or just portraits. It can last four hours or four days. If you’re drawn to something intimate, personal, and entirely yours — in Italy — then we are talking about the same thing, whatever you call it.
