Wedding in Treviso: a greenhouse industrial wedding at H-Farm

A wedding in Treviso at a greenhouse with an industrial feel. The location is unique in the North of Italy: H-Farm, in the province of Treviso. This choice was bold, different, unique.

H-Farm is not a typical wedding location in Treviso: it is a technology campus and an incubator, a place that hosts different events, but rarely wedding ceremonies.

Knowing Camilla, thanks to the time spent together for the engagement photo shoot, I realized that a brilliant person like her could not be satisfied with the usual Venetian villa.

Most weddings in Veneto are held in Venetian villas: their classical elegance, even if spectacular, gave her the feeling that is wasn’t personal enough.

I will tell you more about their wedding in Treviso, but first let’s talk about a love story that was written in the stars

Gelato, gianduiotti and a trip to China

The most interesting aspect of my work as a wedding photographer in Italy is listening to the thousand different ways in which a love story can be born and develop.

When I asked Camilla and Francesco how they met, they both burst into a loud laugh. “There are two conflicting versions”.

We were returning from our photo shoot in Burano, on a vaporetto ride between the small island and the rest of Venice. I took the opportunity to ask them all about the birth of their love story.

Francesco began: “Our parents knew each other. We got along, without talking that much, for many years. She is 4 years younger than me, so for a long period of my life she was just a little girl for me.

The first time we really got to talk, it was … ” Camilla completes his sentence: “Christmas 2012 ″. Francesco shakes his head: “No, it was when I invited you for an ice cream”.

And here the stories begin to diverge: Camilla claims that that invitation message never arrived, while for Francesco the invitation was followed by a refusal.

Camilla gets upset: “He was prince charming to me, I would never have refused him. He was the unattainable, I liked him so very much “. In the end, says Camilla, she took the first step.

She wrote to him after a Christmas spent with the families, together. Francesco worked in Turin and was home for the holidays. “I thought: it’s a perfect opportunity, take it or leave it, and I wrote to him,” says Camilla.

The parents, happy with this possibility, lent a hand to ensure that what had been in the air for years, could finally happen. “We went out and then, after Epiphany day, I received through his mother a package of gianduiotti from Turin. I was so excited “.

From there, slowly, one weekend in Turin and one in Venice, their story grew into a long-distance relationship that lasted 4 years.

“I managed to find a job closer to home, then I was transferred to China for 7 months” continues Francesco. Camilla went to see him, and that was the first of a long series of trips together.

For her, it was a time of great changes: the day after her return from China, she officially started her university courses, a new degree with the purpose of becoming a teacher.

After all these trips and this long periods of distance, they lived together for another 4 years, laying the foundations of their life together.

A carefully planned marriage proposal in Lisbon

The marriage proposal arrived on April 25, 2019, in their favorite city: Lisbon.

“I gave her two tickets for the Mumford & Sons concert in Lisbon for Christmas. We discovered this group on one of our favorite trips to South Africa. We took a little vacation in the Canaries, and ended the trip with a stop in Lisbon ”, Francesco tells me. Lisbon, which they had already visited a few years earlier, had become their favorite city.

The surprise organized by Francesco was double.

“We had booked a guesthouse, then I canceled the reservation. I thought of taking her to a beautiful historic residence, a 17th century building, with the idea of proposing there, after the concert. When we got to Lisbon, I thought she would realize straight away that something was different from the original plan. But she didn’t: we enter this “guesthouse” as she called it, we check in.

A person took us to visit the whole building, and she still did not understand that it was not the guesthouse she had booked “. Camilla adds laughing: “A few days earlier I asked him if there was at least breakfast in this guesthouse, and he lied to me saying the breakfast was not included.

When the manager of the building accompanied us on the visit, I asked her if it was possible to book breakfast. She looked at me dazed: “Of course you’ll have breakfast” and Francesco was so embarrassed.

Francesco continues: “She still didn’t get it. In the meantime, I had prepared the ring and put it in a drawer.

Before leaving, she began to open all the drawers in search of hotel gadgets. Luckily I had wedged the ring well at the bottom of the drawer, so she didn’t notice! “.

After the Mumford & Sons concert they returned to the hotel. Camilla was surprised: “We go back to the room and I see that there is a soft light. I go to the bathroom and when I get out I see that there is a bottle of wine in the bucket and two glasses on the table.

I ask Francesco for explanations and he pretends nothing’s happening. I was really amazed that the hotel was so luxurious, offering us a bottle of wine for no reason.

Then I turned around and on the bed I found a lot of red roses.

Beautiful, and I thought the surprise ended there. But he pulled back his chair, ordered me to sit down, knelt, and made a beautiful marriage proposal”.

Camilla says with emotion “I was shaking, I absolutely did not expect it”. Even at the end of the evening, Camilla had not yet understood that this was not the guesthouse she had booked, but a surprise well organized by Francesco!

A unique civil wedding ceremony, surrounded by flowers and tropical greenery

Camilla and Francesco began planning, agreeing on a civil marriage. After visiting different possible locations, they fell in love with the idea of a wedding immersed in nature, with unique contemporary elements.

The entire H-Farm complex is perfect for organizing a day that brings together an industrial, contemporary aesthetic but also nature and greenery.

Camilla and Francesco thought of a wedding that would make good use of all the variety of buildings and styles offered by H-Farm.

The preparation of the bride and groom began at Villa Annia, a 1700s complex redesigned by Zanon Architetti Associati. Here we took the first photos of the bride and her bridesmaids, and also groom and groomsmen.

Together with Francesco and event stylist Denny Cardin, Camilla dreamed and planned a symbolic ceremony in the unique setting of the H-Farm Greenhouse.

The bouquet created by Corinna at the flower shop Frida’s, the florals and the design of Denni created a magical atmosphere, for a heartfelt, moving ceremony, where friends and relatives took turns telling stories about bride and groom.

Wedding reception at the Le Cementine restaurant in Cà Tron, Treviso

Le Cementine restaurant is located in a unique position: close to the Venice lagoon, and close to Treviso.

A modern building that opens onto nature, with a rich vegetable garden, vines and climbing plants, lawns and farm animals. Their cuisine is defined as “instinctive and contemporary” and they follow the no waste philosophy.

What was supposed to be a traditional dinner turned into a lively buffet.

Because of coronavirus restrictions, the dinner turned into a buffet. The dishes alternated with music and activities organized by friends. The couple themselves had prepared a real show: first an incredible couple choreography, prepared in a few months but truly perfect.

Then, a serenade by Francesco, with the help of his groomsmen. The song was, of course, “Can’t help falling in love” by Elvis Presley.
