Maìsa and Alexandre traveled with their family in the Veneto region for a reason. They went to enjoy the Valdobbiadene hills and the wines produced in the area because Maìsa’s parents have Italian heritage, tracing back to Veneto. They also carry on with the tradition of their ancestors and have a wine business back home, in the South of Brazil. A family trip to such an emotional place was special. Alexandre, on his part, decided that this was the best occasion for the marriage proposal he had in mind for a while.
A sunset marriage proposal in Valdobbiadene and the day after in Venice
The Valdobbiadene hills, a UNESCO site, are truly magical at sunset. Located in north-eastern Italy, they include the winegrowing landscape of the Prosecco wine production area. The landscape is characterized by ‘hogback’ hills, ciglioni – small plots of vines on narrow grassy terraces – forests, small villages and farmland. For centuries, this rugged terrain has been shaped and adapted by man and the area was part of the Republic of Venice.
The day after Alexandre’s proposal, the couple decided to have a engagement photos in Venice. Maìsa’s sister contacted me and wanted to offer her the photoshoot to celebrate this special moment.
Sunrise magic, a water taxi ride and coffee
Our shoot started in Piazzale Roma where we took a water taxi to reach Piazza San Marco. The images taken on the Grand Canal with the sun rising are just spectacular. We captured the iconic Piazza San Marco and concluded our day at a café. After our shoot both Maìsa and her sister wrote a beautiful review of the service.
