Ready to start planning your dream photoshoot in Italy?
If you’ve ever dreamed of slipping away with the love of your life to exchange vows—or simply relive the magic of your wedding day in a place that feels like a dream—this story is for you.
Patrycja and Tomasz, two young doctors from Poland, did exactly that. Amid their whirlwind honeymoon journey through Europe—starting in the alpine serenity of Slovenia’s Lake Bled and ending on the beaches of Croatia—they made a special stop in Venice. Not just for the romance (though Venice never disappoints), but for something more intimate: a summer elopement in Venice, just the two of them.

A Wedding Day, Reimagined
Though legally married, Patrycja and Tomasz weren’t quite ready to say goodbye to the feeling of their wedding day. They longed for something quieter, more personal, and steeped in timeless elegance—something that would feel like their own private celebration. That’s where I came in: not just as their photographer, but as the person helping bring this vision to life.
We planned a morning that would feel like a true elopement: a slow and intentional experience with no rush, no guests—just love, light, and Venice waking up around us.

Venice at Sunrise: The City Was Theirs
We met in Piazza San Marco just before sunrise. The square, usually buzzing with life, was still and silent. The soft golden light wrapped around them as they walked hand-in-hand through the arcades, dressed in their elegant wedding attire. It felt like a scene from a movie—completely theirs.
There was no strict schedule. We wandered slowly through the old stone streets, across quiet bridges, and into secret corners only locals know. We stopped when the moment called for it—when the light hit just right, or when they wanted to pause and take it all in. They danced. They laughed. They kissed under arches. It wasn’t just a photoshoot—it was a memory unfolding.

The Gondola Ride: A Cinematic Ending
As the city began to stir and the summer heat began to rise, we ended the morning with a private gondola ride through the smaller canals of Venice. The gondolier steered us slowly through the winding waterways, and then out into the Giudecca Canal, where the view of San Marco opened wide before them.
It was the perfect ending to a morning that felt like a secret celebration. And though it was a sweltering June day, nothing could dull the magic of what we created together.

Eloping in Venice Isn’t About Rules—It’s About Feeling
Patrycja and Tomasz’s story is a beautiful reminder that your wedding (or second wedding, or vow renewal, or just-because celebration) doesn’t have to follow tradition. It can be just the two of you, lost in a city that feels like it was made for romance.
