Lake Como is one the most romantic destinations for a proposal. As a Lake Como proposal photographer I have seen a lot of different options. While Venice is of course, where my heart and my home is, Lake Como offers the kind of privacy, luxury and natural landscape you really want when you are planning a marriage proposal and you want to truly amaze your partner.

Some of the best locations for a marriage proposal in Lake Como
When planning a marriage proposal in Lake Como there are a few things to consider, and one is certainly the location: where to propose?
The first possible option is to reserve a private space in a villa like Villa del Balbianello, or Villa Carlotta, just to name a few.
Most villas offer the option to rent after opening hours. Or they allow you to have a photoshoot during opening times, at a price. Contact me to learn more about this process and the pricing. This doesn’t work for last minute photoshoots, because the waitlist can be extremely long.
Another great idea is a private boat ride along the lake. This give you the opportunity to see more of the area, and use these stunning villas as a background for your images. This is what Daniel decided to do.
A boat ride from Tremezzo to Bellagio and an intimate proposal
Daniel and Paulina live in London. They had been dating for a while, when they planned a summer trip to Italy, on the occasion of a friend’s wedding. Daniel thought it was his chance for a romantic Italian proposal and wanted to capture it on camera. He booked a morning boat ride from Tremezzo to Bellagio, with a stop at the iconic Villa del Balbianello.
Tremezzina is located on the western banks of Lake Como, just opposite Bellagio. It is the result of a recent merger of the municipalities of Lenno, Mezzegra, Ossuccio and Tremezzo. Among the main must-sees, in fact, Tremezzina is home to two of the most beautiful villas on Lake Como: Villa Balbianello and Villa Carlotta. Villa Balbianello will probably look familiar because some scenes from Star Wars were filmed there, but also 007 Casino Royale.
Our boat tour was the location Daniel chose to ask Paulina to marry him. It was the most magical and intimate moment. We headed to the small town of Bellagio afterwards, to take a walk and eat a gelato.
