Babymoon in Venice for Miss Universe Indonesia Whulandary Herman
Babymoon in Venice for actress, model and tv personality Whulandary Herman
Whulandary Herman is an Indonesian model, actress and tv personality with a stunning presence and a kind heart. She got married one year ago in Borobudur, near Jogyakarta (look at her incredible ceremony!) with Malaysian businessman Nik Ibrahim. Fun fact: I traveled to Borobudur at about the same time!
They contacted me for a photoshoot in Venice Italy. This was going to be one of their last holidays as a couple with no kids. Whulandary and Nik wanted to use the occasion to announce their pregnancy on Instagram and take a wedding anniversary vacation in Italy.
Multicultural love story between Indonesian Whulandary Herman and Malaysian Nik Ibrahim
The couple started their relationship in 2017, after a couple of best friends tried to set them up. Separated by distance and the intensity of their work, Nik and Whulandary relied on messages and phone calls during courtship. When the time finally came for them to meet for a lunch date in Kuala Lumpur, the meeting didn’t go as well as planned.
“I realized that I have lost my passport, right when Niki picked me up. I started to panic and cry. Fortunately, Niki was willing to accompany me during the whole process. He also succeeded in calming me down when I was angry”. The Malaysian gentleman’s kindness and sincerity impressed Whulandary Herman her so much, that she fell in love and said yes to Nik’s proposal that happened only a few months after they officially dated.
A magical wedding in Indonesia at Plataran Borobudur
“It had always been my dream to get married on a boat, with only my closest relatives and friends present”. Whulandary Herman’s and Nik initial’s plan was a casual destination wedding in Komodo Island, with a simple white gown and khaki shorts. But then they considered their family’s wishes as well. After visiting Komodo Island, Bandung and Yogyakarta, their choice finally fell on Plataran Borobudur.
Borobudur is a UNESCO site on the island of Java. The magnificent Borobudur temple is the world’s biggest Buddhist monument and it a magical experience to visit it at sunrise or sunset. The area is surrounded by beautiful scenery of Central Java’s natural forests.
“We fell in love with the tranquility of the whole city and we’re sure our guests will enjoy their visit as well,” Whulandary said to Bridestory. For the wedding day, Whulandary carried the Minang traditions while at the same time incorporating Javanese and Sundanese culture to even more showcase Indonesia’s diversity.
Romantic wedding anniversary and babymoon in Italy for Whulandary Herman and Nik
Both Nik Ibrahim, who is a bussinessman and Whulandary Herman are well traveled and ready to see more of Europe anytime they can. They picked Italy in February to celebrate their babymoon. A babymoon is essentially a relaxed getaway for expectant mothers and their partners before their baby is born.
It has become a trend for mums-to-be in recent years. It is so common that the hotel Aman offers a dedicated package. For Whulandary and Nik, this was also their first wedding anniversary. They traveled to other parts of Italy and finally chose Venice for a romantic babymoon photoshoot.
The occasion was special because they had just announced their first pregnancy on Instagram, so it was a big suprise for all their fans. The warm and calming personality of Whulandary and Nik made this winter day very special. Together we had an early morning walk to Piazza San Marco, amazingly lit by the rising sun. Everything was orange, pink, and yellow. We then enjoyed the view over the Bridge of Sighs and Riva degli Schiavoni.
