Celebrating their anniversary in Venice with a couple photoshoot, Tobyanna and Graham contacted me quite early on to plan. What she had in mind was an editorial experience including two different outfits and various locations.
Piazza San Marco at sunrise, with the city all to ourselves
We met in a desert and romantic Piazza San Marco in the early morning. It is the best time of day for a shoot, and we managed to explore the whole area undisturbed. They told me they rarely take vacation time, as Graham’s work is very demanding, but they were really happy to celebrate and enjoy their wedding anniversary in Venice, finally.
An anniversary photoshoot that includes real life moments, and the exclusive, tourists-free area of Arsenale and Campo Santi Giovanni e Paolo
After walking on Riva degli Schiavoni, with the most amazing sun rising in front of us, we had a stop at their b&b for a change of dress. Tobyanna changed into a beautiful blue dress and we walked into Castello neighborhood, towards Campo Santi Giovanni e Paolo. This square is one of the largest in Venice.
In the center, on a base of polychrome marble, there is the equestrian monument dedicated to Bartolomeo Colleoni by Verrocchio. The imposing church of Santi Giovanni e Paolo, as well as the facade of the city hospital, are just incredible architectural masterpieces.
This is where we took a gondola for a ride inside the canals of Venice. The golden soft light made it the best experience ever. We passed by the Rialto bridge and headed back to Campo Ss. Giovanni e Paolo for a coffee at the historical Rosa Salva Cafè, enjoying the light of the morning in the most Venetian way.
