Ready to start planning your dream photoshoot in Italy?
Bellagio and Villa Melzi are some of the most beautiful locations in Lake Como. A belated honeymoon in Lake Como is still a honeymoon and deserves some celebration. When Haley and Chris told me about their wedding the year prior I could not believe their story.
They had planned the most romantic wedding at Disney in Florida, because it was Haley’s dream. Then, the day after, when they went for a walk around the park, Haley fell and broke her leg. All of their honeymoon plans had to be postponed to a year later, as the healing took a very long time.
When I met them Haley looked stunning on her heels, perfectly dressed for the occasion, but she confessed it was a long process to get back on fancy shoes!

Bellagio the jewel of Lake Como and the stunning Villa Melzi
Lake Como, 25 miles north of Milan, has much to offer couples looking for a true taste of Italy, with historic villas, breathtaking views and plenty of traditional restaurants with a modern and refined approach to Italian cuisine.
Lake Como really is the quintessential picture perfect location for a romantic newlywed get-away. The town of Bellagio, sitting at the center of the land mass that divides Lake Como in two, is a perfect starting point for anyone who is exploring the area. The town can be reached by car or, more easily, via boat, either with public transport or taxi.
The tiny streets of Bellagio are so pretty that a simple walk is worth the visit. The old town center has one main road, which takes you to the tip of the village past dozens of boutiques where you can find local food, leather goods, clothing, perfumes, and much more.

Villa Melzi d’Eril is the perfect spot for a couples photoshoot
In Lake Como you are definitely spoiled with choice when it comes to finding a location for your photoshoot. Haley and Chris chose Villa Melzi for its rich garden and abundance of views over the Lake.
Villa Melzi d’Eril was built between 1808 and 1810. In the garden there are Egyptian sculptures and Roman statues which add to the romantic atmosphere of the garden. There is a Japanese pond with water lilies, surrounded by maple and cedar trees. In April and May, you can admire the blooming azaleas and rhododendrons.
Exploring the Villa at sunset and having a romantic walk to Bellagio afterwards. This is the most romantic and relaxing way to end the day on Lake Como.
