Josefine decided to take portraits in Bellagio during her holiday in Lake Como. Despite the rain and strong wind of a wet summer day, we had the best experience.

Bellagio is a small town with a population of 3800 people, but it can be full of surprises for anyone traveling here and spending a couple of days.

Best things to see in Bellagio, Lake Como

        Walk around the town center

The Borgo, the name of Bellagio’s town center, is a charming maze of narrow cobblestone streets, steep stairways and colorful houses overlooking Lake Como.

One of Bellagio’s most iconic features are its famous “Salite” (climbs) which take you from the lakefront to Via Giuseppe Garibaldi, the main street in the town center. The most iconic of these alleyways is Salita Serbelloni. Here you can find a variety of boutiques and craft stores.

Have a coffee in one of the many historical cafés

Historical cafés are a treat on a rainy day in Bellagio. There are many different options such as Bar Caffè Borgo Vecchio, or Bar Pasticceria Rossi. Most historical cafés are on the lakeside, but there are beautiful options hidden all around town.

Walk the Bellagio lakeside Lungo Lario Manzoni and enjoy incredible views on Lake Como

The walk on the lake is called Lungo Lario Manzoni and it is magnificent. It connects the old town of Bellagio to Villa Melzi d’Eril (check out this honeymoon photoshoot at the villa). Since it was still raining after our photos around town, Josefine decided to embrace the weather and just play with the water.
