Engagement photo session in Tuscany: vintage vibes in Val d’Orcia

Engaged to be married in Italy, this stylish couple planned a shoot in Tuscany that had all of the elements of an editorial. We chose the magnificent Val d’Orcia as a set for a shoot rooted in fashion and vintage vibes.

A Tuscan gem: the historical town of Pienza

We met in Pienza, province of Siena, Tuscany, in the historical region of Val d’Orcia. Situated between the towns of Montepulciano and Montalcino, Pienza is considered the “touchstone of Renaissance urbanism”. In 1996, UNESCO declared the town a World Heritage Site, and in 2004 the entire valley, the Val d’Orcia, was included on the list of UNESCO‘s World Cultural Landscapes.

Once you are there, you can clearly see why: this town is the quintessential Tuscan hamlet, full of life and peaceful at the same time. We happened to be there when the city was getting ready for a local festival and that added a special touch to the day.

Jeharna and Jonathan rented one of my all time favorite vintage cars: a Fiat 124 Spider. This car is so elegant and perfect for a shoot that is focused on getting a specific vintage, classic, Italian vibe.
