Villa Catignano in the heart of Tuscany is the perfect venue for a destination wedding in Italy
Dating back to the second half of the 16th century, Villa Catignano owes its current appearance to a late 17th-century renovation. You enter the villa through a beautiful wrought iron gate, supported by two travertine pillars, which leads into a romantic courtyard. Surrounding the courtyard is the main building, the farm, the stables and the chapel. The chapel was built in 1697 based on a project by the Sienese sculptor and architect Jacopo Franchini.
Villa Catignano clearly shows you why Tuscany is such a popular travel destination
The villa, restored in the first half of the 20th century, is now a sought after wedding location for destination weddings in Italy. Part of Villa Catignano’s charm is its proximity to all the most popular cities and towns (Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Florence, and Arezzo).
The classic beauty of Catignano combined with its history, art, and idyllic countryside setting create the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable destination wedding that will make your guests extremely happy. There is one of the best Italian landscapes, the intimacy of the countryside, the food, great wine and sensational hospitality.
Rustic charm with a unique view over the wine region of Chianti
What was once a farming place, devoted to the production of fine wine and olive oil, is now a farm accommodation. Villa Catignano was carefully restored with respect towards all the original features. Beautiful fireplaces, living rooms with hardwood flooring, frescoed walls, precious prints and beautifully crafted furniture.
The picturesque Tuscan countryside and unique private villa provides the perfect backdrop for a romantic wedding. With a total of 19 little villas and apartments Villa Catignano is the ultimate retreat for destination weddings. The apartments are available for exclusive rental from 40 to 90 people.

The make-up, masterfully done by Claudia Pinto, enhanced her radiant naturally Italian beauty. The stunning engagement ring came from Balacia. The uniquely romantic invitation suite was made by Elephant Limbo.
Once the bride was ready, she met the husband to be in the villa’s courtyard. The groom was stylishly dressed in white by Don Morphy. They posed for a few couple portraits, then headed to the ceremony area.
An intimate and organically romantic al fresco dinner
A romantic tablescape was set by creative designer Taylor Olivares of Traveling Weddings with Taylor. Florals by Vida Creative and linens and vegetables created a colorful tablescape with touches of French blue, orange and pink.
Bride and groom chose an open air ceremony, despite having an ancient private chapel inside the property. They opted for an intimate symbolic ceremony. They said their vows within the evocative framing of the statues of the Four Seasons in the Italian gardens.
A bespoke luxury photoboot by Kibeli was the guest star of the evening. The perfect way to have fun with your guests. And the prefect addition to a design-driven, vibrant, contemporary wedding in Tuscany.
