London couple photoshoot in Covent Garden
Autumn in London: a couple photo shoot in England
A couple photo shoot in London brought me back to the city after years, and made me rediscover some corners I was fond of. Yes, because my London period dates back to 2009, when I wasn’t a professional photographer yet. Despite the soft winter light up north, and a freezing wind, it was a pleasure to be back in England to photograph Katie and Joel.
A long honeymoon in England for Katie and Joel
Katie and Joel are a couple originally from the United States. Recently married, they decided to move to England a year ago. The opportunity arose when Joel won a doctoral scholarship at the prestigious Oxford University, where he studies classical Jewish literature. Katie, with her experience in teaching, has found a job as a school teacher, while at the same time keeping alive her passion for photography.
We met in London for a photo shoot and a long walk along the Thames
We met in November in London for a romantic photo shoot around the city. Driving from Oxford on Sunday, Katie and Joel got stuck in traffic. What was supposed to be a photo shoot in the warm light of the sunset, became an evening meeting. But even the blue light of the evening has a certain charm.
Some of my favorite places to stroll in London
We met in Covent Garden, a lively and colorful area, already ready for Christmas. We strolled through Neal’s Yard, a little hidden wonder of London, and as the sun went down we crossed the Thames to reach the South Bank, a neighborhood full of activity and lights. In the distance the London Eye and the magical Christmas market, already open. I said goodbye to them at the Waterloo tube stop, falling in love with this city again, like it was the first time.
