Christmas Holidays in Venice and a couple photoshoot in Burano
Just engaged traveling to Venice for the Christmas holidays
Kemi and Arsan traveled to Venice for the holidays, a special occasion for them as they just got engaged. They met in California, where they both live, and they fell in love. Now they are planning their wedding, a task that Kemi was happy to leave in the hands of her mother.
Their wedding will integrate Armenian and Nigerian traditions
Arsan is of Armenian descent, and Kemi Nigerian. Their wedding is going to be big, colorful and incredibly interesting. Venice is home to a big Armenian community and San Lazzaro degli Armeni is often chosen by Armenian couples from all over the world for a destination wedding.
Looking for a vacation destination for the Christmas Holidays, as a newly engaged couple, Kemi and Arsan found a particularly convenient ticket to Venice and they jumped on the occasion to spend the Christmas Holidays in Burano, Venice and see the city in winter.
After the biggest acqua alta in decades, Venice is now back to normal.
This couple did not fear acqua alta and luckily we didn’t find any, because acqua alta in Burano can be extremely tricky. The island becomes almost inaccessible when the water rises too much.

Burano is a tiny island, near Torcello at the northern end of the Lagoon, known for its lace work and brightly coloured houses.
2,777 people live here and of course, the primary economy is tourism. Since before the Venetian Republic, Burano was home to fishermen and legend says that the houses were painted in bright hues so they could see their way home when fog blanketed the lagoon.⠀

The most natural way to experience Venice is by boat, any boat. With the fog it takes on a completely mystical atmosphere. The sound of water while navigating. Everything is hidden and you feel like you protected by a big misty blanket.
Kemi and Arsan took a waterboat with me to Burano. Together we navigated through the fog, hoping for a good weather situation in Burano.
You rarely find colors to use as background when you are taking couples photos around Venice. I usually recommend couples to dress with colors when we are meeting for a photoshoot in Venice, because Venice has earthly neutral tones.
In Burano, on the contrary, I recommend neutral clothing because the colors are everywhere
